Our translator and friend who lives in our house with us is named Treasure, and over the past few weeks has had really bad headaches and stomachaches and this past weekend after several doctor visits discovered that she had appendicitis. Saturday She had it removed, But Swazi medicine is nothing at all like the States. Something that would have been a simple surgery in the US and only kept her in the hospital for maybe one night has kept Treasure in the hospital three days and in tons of pain. Our team has all been taking turns staying with her throughout this whole time and have seen the horrible care given to her from the nurses, and this at the better of the two hospitals in town!
On top of having a surgery that scared for to death, her whole body in terrible pain that makes her cry every day, and terrible nursing care, her own parents refused to visit her for the first two days after her surgery because they were afraid of being charged with a huge bill. The hospital bill is around $2000 US which is more then they would ever be able to pay. So our leaders have payed the bill, which they can't really afford either, out of their own pocket. Trusting that the Lord will provide.
I am just outraged by the whole situation, and my heart is breaking for her. Please join me in prayer for my friend Treasure. Especially that her recovery would be as fast as possible and with little pain, And that the Lord would provide the money for the surgery and her stay in the hospital.  Thank you so much!
